Shelly Longenecker's Secrets To Preparing An Allergy-Friendly, Whole Food Meal In 15 Minutes

Apr 19, 2020

Have you heard the worrying statistic showing that 10 years old children are already having chronic disease marker in their body, which would kill them when they are in their 50s or 60s? Apparently it’s all due to bad eating habits.

The good news is that it can be prevented through simple changes in their diet and lifestyle.

Today’s guest on MomBoss Spotlight is author and founder of Dinner for a Dollar. Shelly Longenecker used to believe the myth that she had to spend a fortune on food and all day in the kitchen to feed her family safe, whole food.

When her son was diagnosed 10 years ago with several food allergies, she started creating her own system to cut her food budget and spend less time in the kitchen. She now shares her methods via her book and speaking engagements.

In this interview, we covered:

  • How Shelly dug deeper and further modified her own diet to make it even cleaner and healthier when she was diagnosed with cancer in April 2019
  • How she prepares an allergy-friendly, whole food meal for her family in just 15 minutes, for only $1 per person
  • How she went from a full-time home-school mom to become an expert in feeding family simple, allergy-free whole food for under $1 (she was recently featured on Fox News!)
